The government of Bihar state has made a significant decision regarding the teacher recruitment exam (TRE 4). Meeting the demands of the applicants, the government announced that the TRE 4 exam will be conducted in a single stage rather than being divided into two separate stages.
Following successful negotiations between the government and student representatives, the uncertain protest in Gardanibagh, Patna, was halted. Applicants had been at the protest site in Gardanibagh since August 18, 2026, demanding the exam be held in one cycle and ensuring transparency.
Under pressure from the growing movement, the state administration invited student representatives for discussion. At a high-level meeting with the Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, students presented their concerns. The government acknowledged the validity of the students' arguments and agreed to meet the demand for a single examination.
After reaching an agreement on the main requirements, student organizations announced the cessation of their protests. The applicants present at the protest site welcomed this decision by the government.
