Dongfeng officially entered the Brazilian market during the Interlagos Festival 2026, adopting the acronym DFM to facilitate local communication. This automaker represents China's fourth largest state-owned automobile manufacturer. Although it has a history of partnerships with companies such as Stellantis, Nissan, and Renault, the vehicles to be introduced under the DFM brand will feature technology developed internally by the company.
DFM's national production plan spans a four-year period. The company plans to begin operations with the approval of 60 dealerships and presence in 32 distinct business groups, aiming for sales in 47 locations across 21 states, including the Federal District.
The Vigo and Box models are available for pre-sale starting this Friday (27) through Mercado Livre, being the first products of the brand to be commercialized in the country. Initially, they will be sold under the general DFM brand, but in the future, the line will include luxury divisions, such as Voyah, characterized by a more refined design, and MHero, aimed at the off-road segment.
DFM has established a complete after-sales support structure, which includes parts distribution, customer assistance, and technician training for the authorized network. The warranty offered covers 7 years or 300,000 kilometers for the vehicle, while the engine, traction battery, and electronic control systems have a 10-year warranty without mileage limits.
Details of the Launch Models
The brand debuts with two vehicles: the DFM Box and the DFM Vigo.
DFM Box
The DFM Box is a compact electric hatchback, featuring dimensions of 4.20 meters in length, 1.81 meters in width, 1.57 meters in height, and 2.66 meters between axles. Its motor generates 95 horsepower and 16 kgfm, driving the front axle. The battery pack consists of lithium iron phosphate, with a capacity of 43.9 kWh, and the motor uses an efficient and compact construction designed for low energy consumption. Its range, according to the Inmetro cycle, reaches 275 km, and it supports a DC charging rate of 88 kW.
A notable feature of the DFM Box is the frameless door windows, similar to the style of coupes and Subaru cars up to the mid-2000s. Internally, it offers features such as a drawer-style glove box, similar to the Geely EX2 Max, a frameless rearview mirror, and 50W wireless charging. The equipment package includes ADAS, a multimedia center with a 12-inch screen, a 360° camera, and a sound system equipped with six speakers.
DFM Vigo
Positioned above the Box model, the DFM Vigo is a compact electric SUV. Its dimensions are 4.30 meters in length, 1.86 meters in width, 1.65 meters in height, and 2.71 meters between axles. This model was developed to directly compete with the BYD Yuan Pro and the GWM Ora 5. Its motor delivers greater performance than the Box's, providing 163 hp and 23.5 kgfm. The 51.9 kWh battery ensures a range of 302 km on the Inmetro cycle.
The DFM Vigo features a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable mirrors, ADAS package, and 18-inch wheels. A practical highlight of the SUV is its 500-liter trunk, which has a split tailgate and an additional 72-liter compartment located under the floor. All DFM vehicles underwent rigorous validation tests and received a specific suspension tuning for Brazilian conditions. Sales prices have not yet been announced.
