Amid rising sugar prices, Congress stated on Thursday that the current crisis conceals a 'scheme' worth 35,000 crore rupees, organized by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to enrich black market participants during the holidays.
According to Congress, beneficiaries of this scheme may redirect part of their profits as donations to the party. Furthermore, the cause of the crisis is cited as the misuse of 32% of sugarcane for E20 fuel production.
