Hyundai plans to launch a range of new vehicles in the Indian market. At an investor day in 2026, the company announced that it will release 26 different products by 2030, including updates to existing models and completely new ones.
Hyundai has confirmed the names of some upcoming cars for the Indian market. Next year, the company plans to introduce updated versions of the Creta and i10 in India. The new Creta has appeared multiple times during testing, suggesting what features it might have.
It is rumored that the new Creta may use Hyundai's K3 platform, which is also the basis for the second-generation Kia Seltos. Test samples of this car have frequently been captured, indicating that the vehicle will be larger and more angular compared to the previous version.
The company may also update the car's interior, equipping it with the Hyundai Playos Connect infotainment interface and improved features. The base version of the Creta will retain a petrol engine: Hyundai might offer a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine with 115 hp.
Furthermore, there is discussion about the possibility of installing a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 160 hp and a 1.5-liter diesel engine with 116 hp. In addition to these options, there is speculation about a hybrid powertrain, although its release might be scheduled for later, not alongside the new Creta.
The new Creta could potentially debut in the second half of 2027. It is worth noting that the current Creta was introduced by the company in 2020 and received a significant facelift in 2024.
However, competition in the mid-size car segment has intensified with the entry of new SUVs such as the Tata Sierra, Renault Duster, and Nissan Tekton. Moreover, the new Seltos poses serious competition to the Creta.
Besides the Creta, Hyundai also plans to launch the next generation of the i10. The company may introduce an i10 built on a new platform, featuring numerous functions and changes in exterior and interior design. This model might use the existing 1.2-liter petrol engine producing 83 hp and will also be available in a CNG version.
