In the village of Daultapur, which belongs to the Mandawar tehsil of Bijapur district, panic erupted on Thursday morning when a huge python, approximately 15 feet long, appeared in the home of police officer Krishnapal. When the family noticed the snake inside the house around 11 am, everyone panicked. Subsequently, local residents were alerted to avoid any risk.
As news of the giant python spread, a crowd gathered at the scene. Residents watched the snake from a distance but were not allowed to approach it. The family immediately reported the incident to the forest department. Upon receiving the information, a team arrived at the site, assessed the situation, and began a rescue operation.
Given the size of the python, the forest department team proceeded with the capture process with extreme caution. After an intense effort lasting about an hour, the team managed to safely bring the giant python under control. According to officials, the rescued python was approximately 15 feet long. Transportation of the animal to a safe location was then arranged.
Regional Forest Inspector Mahesh Gautam stated that the team was dispatched to the location immediately after receiving the report of the python's presence in the house. The forestry staff conducted the rescue operation with maximum care. During this process, the family and local residents were kept at a safe distance to prevent any untoward incidents.
After the forest department team captured the python, they took it away. Officials reported that the animal was safely released into a protected forest area near the Ganges River. Thus, the python was unharmed and returned to its natural habitat.
Following the successful rescue of the python, the police officer's family and villagers felt relieved. Thanks to the timely arrival of the forest department team, the situation was brought under control. This incident of a large snake being found in a house became a topic of discussion throughout the village.
According to forest department representatives, cases of snakes and other wild animals appearing in populated areas have increased during the monsoon season as they often leave their natural shelters. In this regard, residents were advised to maintain cleanliness in their homes and surroundings. They were also strongly advised against attempting to catch or interfere with any wild animal if one appears.
Officials urged people to immediately report to the forest department if they see snakes or other wild animals. Attempting to catch an animal independently can pose a threat to both humans and the wildlife. Only a trained team can conduct a rescue operation safely. Furthermore, the forest department advised against wasting time on home remedies or folk treatments in case of a snakebite. In the opinion of the official, in case of a bite, the victim should be taken to a qualified doctor or a government hospital as soon as possible to start necessary treatment on time.
