At an event held at The Venue in Melrose Arch, HONOR South Africa introduced its flagship foldable gadget, the HONOR Magic V6, along with the HONOR MagicBook X14 and HONOR Pad 20 devices. The highly anticipated HONOR Robot Phone was also presented during this event. Furthermore, a new logo and slogan for the HONOR brand—Dare to Be—were announced.
The event gathered notable campaign ambassadors, including screen icon Connie Ferguson, former Miss South Africa Miu Le Roux, entrepreneur Sheldon Tatchell, and cricket team captain Themba Bavuma. They participated in a panel discussion where they discussed the importance of useful technological devices in daily professional and business life, with a special focus on the features of the HONOR Magic V6.
HONOR South Africa CEO Fred Zhou stated that the goal of the day was to showcase the most interesting devices in the ecosystem to emphasize the idea of design and creation based on innovation. He noted that the HONOR Magic V6 is the most premium device intended for the high-end market, including leaders in business, technology, lifestyle, and sports—captains and CEOs. In connection with the new slogan Dare to Be, HONOR collaborated with Sheldon Tatchell, Connie Ferguson, Miu Le Roux, Themba Bavuma, Ronwen Williams, and Akanbi Simbine, as each of them embodies the inspiring story of Dare to Be.
Foldable device boosting productivity
The HONOR Magic V6 features an ultra-thin and lightweight design: it measures 8.75 mm when folded and 4.0 mm when unfolded, weighing only 219 grams, ensuring portability without compromise. The device is protected by the HONOR Anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield and the HONOR Super Steel Hinge, which has been tested for up to 500,000 folds, guaranteeing durability. It also boasts IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance standards.
Flagship device HONOR Magic V6
At the core of the HONOR Magic V6 is a large 6,660 mAh HONOR Silicon-carbon battery, making it the largest battery ever installed in a foldable smartphone supporting extended use. The device supports 80W wired fast charging and 66W wireless charging via HONOR SuperCharge. Power is provided by the Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, and image quality is enhanced by the 64-megapixel Ultra Sensing periscope telephoto camera with advanced stabilization for clear and stable photos.
Additionally, the smartphone is equipped with a 7.95-inch internal foldable display optimized for work. The Fast Flex function allows the phone to be quickly folded and unfolded to launch the AI assistant in split-screen mode. AI-powered features, enhanced by Google Gemini support, contribute to smarter workflows; users also receive three months of Google AI Pro with expanded cloud storage.
Seamless connectivity across ecosystems
The HONOR Magic V6 is designed to integrate seamlessly with iPhone, Mac, AirPods, and Apple Watch, thereby bridging ecosystem barriers. Thanks to HONOR Connect and HONOR Share features, users can simplify file transfer, notification reception, and switching between devices, ensuring a more connected workflow across different operating systems. The device also supports Quick Share for app-free file sharing between Android and compatible Apple devices.
HONOR Pad 20 – Better for gaming, smarter for working
The HONOR Pad 20 is a tablet created to meet the growing needs of students, young professionals, and families looking for a versatile device before the start of the academic year. Combining a large battery, a stunning 12.1-inch HONOR 3K display, AI PC-level productivity features, and smart tools, the HONOR Pad 20 provides a practical foundation for studying, working, creating, and entertainment anywhere. Weighing only 525 g and measuring just 6.29 mm thick, the HONOR Pad 20 merges a premium unibody metal chassis with a spacious and portable viewing experience.
The presentation also unveiled the long-awaited HONOR MagicBook X14 2026, featuring a 14-inch Eye Comfort display. The laptop has a 60 Wh battery providing up to 13 hours of simulated battery life and supports 65W fast charging. The HONOR MagicBook X14 2026 comes equipped with the new Intel CoreTM 3 Processor 304.
HONOR Robot Phone – Introducing the world's first robotic smartphone
As a surprise at the presentation, the HONOR Robot Phone appeared, marking the culmination of HONOR's grand global journey in robotics. The HONOR Robot Phone incorporates an ultra-compact mechanical system with 4 degrees of freedom (4-DoF), equipped with the HONOR Titanium Agile Gimbal suspension. This system was developed through 60 manufacturing processes and includes over 100 precision components, supported by more than 100 patents.
The HONOR Robot Phone is the first product achievement under the Cinematic Imaging Partnership between HONOR and ARRI, the globally renowned professional cinema camera developer. Overcoming simple filters, the device adapts selected ARRI Image Science elements and professional film production workflows for use in a smartphone. Through the HONOR–ARRI Partnership, the Robot Phone integrates ARRI LogC3, ARRI Wide Gamut 3, and ARRI Looks with the HONOR H1 image chip.
Opening a new era of multimodal embodied interaction, the Robot Phone presents robot-level AI motion control, transforming the device into an autonomous personal film crew. The camera arm supports several cinematic motion modes, including Tilt Lock, First Person View (FPV), FPV Vertical, and AI SpinShot, helping creators shoot smoother and more dynamic footage more easily. Technologies developed under the HONOR–ARRI Partnership are planned to continue evolving and will be featured in the future HONOR Magic9 series.
The HONOR Magic V6 is available in Red from September 1st for the retail price of R39,999 or on a tariff of R1,599 over 36 months after payment, with consumers receiving an HONOR Watch 6 as a gift.
