The Chinese brand JMC presented its Grand Avenue model at the Festival of Motoring in Xialam. Although the standard version of the Grand Avenue will go on sale in September, a special modification will only appear in 2027.
Despite using the same basic platform as the next-generation Vigus pickup, which was previously introduced this year, the new model features an improved design, a more powerful engine, and more expensive interior trim elements.
In addition to the standard Grand Avenue, JMC also showcased the Grand Avenue Pro version, which is geared towards off-roading and has a more imposing appearance; in the local market segment, it will be sold under a different name.
The Grand Avenue is 115 mm longer than the Vigus and is equipped with an enhanced version of the company's 2.5-liter turbo-diesel engine, which develops 155 kW of power and 500 Nm of torque. This is 28 kW and 70 Nm more than the Vigus engine. The model is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, theoretically allowing it to compete with Japanese rivals such as the Toyota Hilux.
JMC did not disclose information about the off-road special version demonstrated at the show, but for foreign markets, such versions might feature reinforced suspension with a multi-link rear axle equipped with Watt's joints and optional K-MAN Nitrogen dampers. Local technical specifications have not yet been confirmed.
The cabin of the new Grand Avenue is equipped with a 12.3-inch angled multimedia system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as automatic climate control and a leather-trimmed dashboard, among other premium features.
Pricing details and other specifications will be announced closer to the official launch of the vehicle, which is scheduled in a few weeks.
