First stage of Sangardak tourist complex opened in Sariosiyo district

According to the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, the first stage of the Sangardak tourist complex has been commissioned in the Sariosiyo district, which is part of the Surkhandarya region.

This complex features 37 operational tourism infrastructure facilities, including a cable car designed to serve up to 800,000 visitors annually. As part of the broader development plan for the Sangardak center, 152 individual projects with an estimated total value of 76 million US dollars are planned.

The launched first stage includes guest houses, bungalows, chalets, restaurants, traditional pavilions (ayvans), as well as recreational elements such as zip lines and swings, in addition to other guest services.

The central element of the facility is a 1535-meter cable car, built by the Austrian manufacturer Doppelmayr Seilbahnen GmbH, which has officially started operations.

To support the resort area, utility infrastructure was developed, which included laying 14 kilometers of drinking water pipelines, 4.2 kilometers of sewage networks, and 3.2 kilometers of power lines. Construction work also covered the construction of three reservoirs and eight transformer substations, as well as the paving of 4 kilometers of access roads and related transport infrastructure.

The commissioning of the initial stage of the project took place on the eve of the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence.
