Solar power plant with a capacity of 300 MW commissioned in Navoi region of Uzbekistan

The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan announced the commissioning of a 300 MW solar photovoltaic power plant together with a 150 MW energy storage system. This facility is located in the Nurot district of Navoi.

The project was implemented with the participation of the Chinese company China Energy Overseas Investment, and the total implementation cost amounted to 390 million US dollars. The launch of this facility ensured the creation of 30 permanent jobs at the enterprise.

According to the Ministry of Energy data, the solar installation is designed for an annual generation of 657 million kWh of electricity. This volume is sufficient to provide energy to approximately 273,000 households throughout the year.

The launch of this energy complex will also lead to a reduction in natural gas consumption during electricity generation. It is expected that the annual savings will amount to 175 million cubic meters of gas. Furthermore, it is predicted that the project's activities will prevent the emission of 377,000 tons of harmful atmospheric pollutants annually.

The new infrastructure combines a 300 MW solar photovoltaic generation unit with a 150 MW battery storage block, which is intended for storing electricity to regulate system operation.
