Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, is reportedly facing significant changes to its platforms, which could include mandatory shutdowns overnight and a two-hour daily usage limit.
Meta has reached an agreement with a court in California, which requires the company to adhere to certain regulations and pay 14 billion US dollars (approximately 1.15 lakh crore rupees). These rules are specifically intended for teenagers under the age of 18.
This information was released from the office of California Attorney General Rob Bonta. However, there is currently no public information regarding when Meta will begin implementing these new stipulations.
A major lawsuit against Meta commenced in a California court two weeks prior, which also involved cases from 28 courts across America. The lawsuit leveled serious accusations against Meta, claiming that its popular social media applications, Facebook and Instagram, were negatively impacting children.
Furthermore, the case alleged that Meta incorporated features into its apps designed to foster addiction to smartphone use among people.

It has been reported that Meta must make a payment of 14 billion US dollars and comply with several specific rules.
