At the international film festival, Ulugbek Qodirov was recognized as the best actor. The festival featured five films produced with the participation of Uzbekistan, as well as student works.
According to the information agency 'Dunyo,' the Uzbek actor Ulugbek Qodirov won the prize in the 'Best Male Role' category at the VII Lendoc International Film Festival for his work in the film 'Kazbek.' This historical drama film 'Kazbek' was made in collaboration between Uzbekistan and Belarus under the direction of Akbar Bekturdiev.
The festival took place in St. Petersburg and was organized by the 'Lendoc' and 'Kinokultura' film studios with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Russia and the Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg.
This year, representatives from 13 countries participated in the festival, presenting 39 works—feature, documentary, historical, debut, and student films. Among the participating countries were Russia, Uzbekistan, India, Iran, China, Indonesia, Mauritania, Latvia, and others.
Films created in cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan were also shown, such as 'Mahtumquli' and 'Bahorni quvib' by Ayub Shahobiddinov, as well as 'Tortishish kuchi' by Shamsoda Ismatova. The program also included the short film 'Osha bahor haqida,' which tells the story of an 18-year-old postman who showed courage during wartime.
In the field of student and educational works, creative projects of students from the State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan were demonstrated. These films were shown to the audience in the central cinemas of St. Petersburg.
The jury evaluating the competition entries consisted of filmmakers from Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Belarus.
