Yamaha introduces new sport model YZF-R2 in the Indian market with prices starting from 2.30 lakh rupees

Yamaha has released its new motorcycle model in the Indian market. Previously, the only choice for sports bike enthusiasts was the Yamaha R15, but now the company has added a new option to this list.

Yamaha has introduced the Yamaha YZF-R2 to the Indian market. This is the second model in the R series from the company. The previous model, Yamaha R15, was launched in 2008, after which various updates were made.

The new YZF-R2 is available in three different configurations. The starting price is 2.30 lakh rupees including export duties, while the most expensive version costs 2.53 lakh rupees with export duties. Delivery of these motorcycles is planned to begin in September 2026, and they will be available in several color options.

The base version will be called YZF-R2 (price 2,30,500 rupees), the mid-range version is the YZF-R2 Quick Shifter (price 2,39,500 rupees including export duties), and the top-tier version is the YZF-R2M (price 2,53,000 rupees including export duties). 5000 units of this model have already been pre-ordered before the official start of sales.

The design of the Yamaha YZF-R2 is largely inspired by the R15 V4 model. The motorcycle features sharp aerodynamic fairings, compact proportions, and an aggressive riding posture. It is equipped with LED headlights that include LED daytime running lights, and rear LED taillights in a block style.

The engine unit includes a 204cc single-cylinder DOHC liquid-cooled engine with fuel injection (phone valve). This engine is capable of producing 26.5 horsepower and 19.1 Nm of torque. The motorcycle is equipped with a six-speed gearbox, as well as slipper clutch and assist systems.

Furthermore, the new Yamaha is equipped with Ride by Wire technology and the Yamaha Ride Control system. The motorcycle offers three riding modes: Street, Sport, and Rain. A new steel tube frame weighing only 14 kilograms was used in its construction. The suspension includes a telescopic front fork and a monoshock rear absorber.

BMW introduces X1 LWB model with improved features and reduced price

BMW has expanded its lineup in the Indian market by releasing a new version of the X1. This model, named X1 Long Wheelbase (X1 LWB), is equipped with numerous features, offers more cabin space, and is available with a new gasoline engine.

The vehicle will be available alongside the standard X1 and the electric iX1 version. Furthermore, the price of the X1 LWB is lower: by 1 lakh rupees compared to the standard variant and by 1.5 lakh rupees compared to the electric variant.

The BMW X1 LWB was introduced at a price of 49.90 lakh rupees for the showroom price. This model is aimed at buyers who wish to purchase a luxurious SUV with ample interior space. The manufacturer's main focus is on the comfort of rear passengers.

Visually, the car is distinguished by the use of chrome along the window line, which gives it a distinct look. Additionally, silver inserts are applied to the doors and the rear bumper. It retains the same LED headlights and taillights as the standard X1.

The length of the X1 Long Wheelbase is 4616 mm, which is 116 mm longer than the standard version. The wheelbase has increased by 108 mm, reaching 2800 mm. Thanks to this extra space, the length of the rear seat has increased, ensuring an enhanced level of comfort.

The SUV is equipped with 18-inch wheels. Four color options are available: Mineral White, Carbon Black, Night Dusk Blue, and Skyscraper Grey. The most noticeable changes concern the rear passenger seat: it features an additional 15mm of cushioning, and there is also an extra 109 mm of legroom provided.

Features include a curved display, a fixed glass roof, wireless charging, power seats, and folding rear seats. The trunk volume is 540 liters, which can be increased to 1700 liters. The car is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 154 hp and 230 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It is important to note that the 2.0-liter diesel engine, available in the standard version, is absent in this long-wheelbase model.
