Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated on Wednesday that 76.11 million women have been registered under the state's Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna program. He also clarified that an amount of 238.1 billion rupees has already been transferred to the accounts of 68.06 million women.
According to the Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana program, women from the general category receive 1,000 rupees monthly, while women belonging to castes recognized in the schedule receive 1,500 rupees. Mann emphasized that as long as the AAP party maintains power in Punjab, support for women's welfare and financial assistance will not cease.
Furthermore, 52.20 billion rupees have been transferred to the accounts of 1.37 million 'Satkar Sakhis' in recognition of their contribution to spreading this scheme among women across Punjab. The minister noted that each 'Satkar Sakhi' will receive 300 rupees for every registration, which will allow them to earn over 200 billion rupees through this initiative.
Addressing those gathered virtually, Mann stated that the government launched this program as a mark of respect for women's dignity. He added that although this financial aid will not make women rich, it will certainly provide them with self-respect and dignity. According to him, women deserve the highest respect as they are the source of life itself, and the blessings of mothers and sisters can help overcome any worldly difficulties.
Mann specifically highlighted the role of 'Satkar Sakhis', noting that their dedicated efforts have enabled over 75 million women to register under the Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna. Amandeep Kaur, President of the AAP Punjab women's wing and MLA, also highly praised the contribution of the 'Satkar Sakhis' and the entire women's wing in promoting the Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna among the women of Punjab. She stressed that they were not just helping women fill out documents but were becoming a source of support in transforming their lives.
