Government prepares phased plan for implementation of 'Samudra Mantran' oil and gas exploration program

The government, according to official sources, will soon approve an annual plan for conducting work under the national program 'Samudra Mantran'. This program, valued at 84,084 crore rupees, is aimed at intensifying the search for oil and gas in India's marine basins and reducing the country's dependence on energy imports.

Oil Minister Hardeep Puri reviewed the adopted measures concerning the decisions developed during two brainstorming sessions to launch this scheme, which has received Cabinet approval.

Leaders of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) presented a structural reorganization of their organization on Saturday. These changes followed the party's defeat in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections in April and the loss of power after one term.

At a meeting held at the party headquarters in Chennai, known as Anna Arivalayam, MK Stalin approved nine key resolutions aimed at a radical restructuring of the organization, according to PTI.

Furthermore, a new boundary for urban areas will be implemented, which will be determined by voter density. Specifically, in the Chennai Corporation areas, the average number of voters per committee will be 40,000, while in other corporations, this figure will reach 30,000 voters per committee.
