The/Nudge Foundation has introduced TILT, its first impact investment platform, which holds capital amounting to 250 crore rupees. These funds are designated for investing in science and technology-based enterprises.
The TILT Fund received support from the Livelihood Impact Fund, as well as from prominent entrepreneurs and investors, including Deep Kalra (MakeMyTrip), Amit Gupta (Yulu), Hari Menon (BigBasket), Binny Bansal (Flipkart), Vidit Aatrey (Meesho), and the family office of Raj & Indra Nooyi.
TILT's primary focus will be on seed and Series A stage startups, with check sizes ranging from 2 to 16 crore rupees. The fund aims to fill a gap in India's entrepreneurial ecosystem—the limited availability of patient, impact-oriented capital for young ventures.
TILT investments will be distributed across various sectors: agricultural value chains, climate change resilience, informal employment, new employment models, SME productivity, employment opportunities, financial inclusion, market access and distribution, as well as the application of technology and artificial intelligence to solve livelihood-related problems.
Furthermore, the fund will support research, market development, partnerships, and ecosystem infrastructure, thereby complementing the venture fund's investment activities.
Richa Singh, co-founder and managing partner of TILT, noted: 'India's next billion generation is increasingly ready for scalable market solutions, and our goal is to support founders at an early stage by giving them time to build sustainable models, and aligning capital more closely with the realities of the markets and communities they serve.'
Over the past eight years, The/Nudge has supported social entrepreneurs focused on livelihoods, backing over 190 social enterprises and directing approximately 180 crore rupees in grants.
The foundation stated that as these enterprises moved from early validation to scaling, it became clear that many required support beyond philanthropic aid. They also need patient, impact-focused investment capital to overcome the initial stages of building a sustainable business and achieving sustained growth.
Atul Satija, Managing Partner and Founder of TILT, stated: 'Over the next 15 years, we aim to support over 150 startups and significantly improve the lives of 100 million people. We hope to show what is possible when capital is designed with the realities of impact-focused businesses in mind.'
