Leapmotor expanded its vehicle lineup with the introduction of the B10 REEV. This mid-sized SUV was launched during the Interlagos Festival, although its price was not disclosed at the event.
The B10 REEV shares the mechanical architecture with the larger C10 model. Its electric motor generates 218 hp and 32.6 kgfm, providing rear-wheel drive. Additionally, it features a 1.5 naturally aspirated combustion engine, which has the exclusive function of recharging the battery pack.
Thanks to the extended range system, the B10 REEV uses 18.8 kWh batteries. Its purely electric driving range is estimated at about 120 km, but by combining the assistance of the combustion engine, it can travel over 900 km.
In terms of equipment, the vehicle maintains usual specifications, including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay on the multimedia center, 360-degree cameras, ADAS package, automatic air conditioning, rain sensor, seven airbags, panoramic sunroof, and heated side mirrors.
Other models presented
The Chinese brand Stellantis also exhibited two other vehicles at the Interlagos Festival to gauge public reaction. One of these cars was the C10 with all-wheel drive, equipped with a dedicated motor for each axle, totaling 598 hp.
This power allows the mid-to-large SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4 seconds. Its battery has 81.9 kWh and offers a range of 437 km under the European WLTP cycle.
The second vehicle presented for evaluation was the medium hatchback B05. Although it has dimensions similar to a Volkswagen Golf, it incorporates the mechanical set of the electric SUV B10. Being lighter and having a lower height, the 218 hp engine positioned on the rear axle allows the Leapmotor B05 to reach 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. Its battery pack guarantees a range of 482 km in the WLTP cycle.
If marketed in Brazil, the Leapmotor B05 could compete with models such as BYD Dolphin SE, GAC Aion UT, MG4, and GWM Ora 03. Currently, this model is available for purchase in Europe and certain Asian markets.
