Due to obesity becoming a serious health problem, especially among children, and the proportion of schoolchildren and adolescents with excess weight increasing from 2% to 10% between 2000 and 2022, the Supreme Court sent a warning to the Central Government.
The court emphasized that citizens' health must not be jeopardized and issued an ultimatum to the Center regarding the necessity of complying with the order to place warning labels on the packaging of unhealthy food products.
