Starting on August 28th, another edition of Brazil's largest flower festival, the 43rd Expoflora, begins. This event will last for one month, mobilizing the weekends of Holambra, located 135 km from São Paulo, until September 27th.
The main attractions for visitors are floral arrangements and landscaping exhibitions, offering an opportunity to get close to one of the most renowned municipalities in the country for this type of ornamentation production.
Expoflora takes place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the event period, including the September 7th holiday, which falls on a Monday this year. Among the fixed attractions, the traditional Flower Parade, held at 4 PM, followed by the Petal Shower, half an hour later, stands out.
Created in 1981, Expoflora transcends the tradition of flower cultivation that gave Holambra national fame. The event also serves as a celebration of the legacy of the Dutch who colonized the region, leaving their influence visible in the architecture, cuisine, and the name of the municipality itself.
On all days of the event, there are artistic performances that include typical dances from the Netherlands. Admission to Expoflora also grants access to the Holambra Historical and Cultural Museum, providing visitors with an in-depth look at local traditions, including data on the arrival of immigrants and the formation of the city.
The Expoflora Park has areas dedicated to tasting traditional Dutch dishes, such as stroopwafel and pork knuckle, in addition to vegan options to cater to various tastes. Figures show the popularity of the event: annually, during the month of festivities, the city, which has 15 thousand inhabitants, receives approximately 300 thousand visitors seeking beauty, flavor, and entertainment.
For the 2026 edition, the festivities will take place at Expoflora Park, in Holambra, from Friday to Sunday, between August 28th and September 27th, plus the September 7th holiday, which will be on a Monday. Operating hours are from 9 AM to 7 PM. Tickets can be purchased in advance on the website expofloratickets.com.br, starting from R$ 58.90, with the price at the box office being higher.
