An artistic event titled 'Narrative of Mercy' ('Revayat-e Rahmat') is taking place in Tehran, featuring performances by artists from music, theater, and traditional arts. This event is organized at the Tehran City Theater Complex as part of the celebration of Islamic Unity Week.
The event was organized by the Secretariat of the 1500th Anniversary of the Birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and blessings of Allah) in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. According to Mehr, the program combines diverse musical performances, theatrical productions, traditional rituals, and storytelling sessions.
According to the report, the performance takes place every evening from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM and will run until September 29th. The first day of the program began with the performance of 'Nava-ye Aghaz' (Opening Melody) by the Dafafan ensemble under the direction of Mortez Mir.
During the storytelling section, Javad Akapur from Amol performed 'Khorshid-e Rahmat' (Sun of Mercy). On the first day, Wednesday, the theatrical production 'Resurrection,' written by Fateh Badparva and staged by Mokhtar Mohammadi from Marivan, was also presented. The Maysan ensemble, led by Basem Hammadi from Ahvaz, performed regional music, and a ritual play 'Prayer for Rain,' written by Mehdi Kashmiri and staged by Hamed Matratlobi from Bojnurd, was part of the program. The first day concluded with a musical performance by Ehsan Yasin.
The 'Narrative of Mercy' event is held to commemorate the 1500th anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and blessings of Allah), gathering artists from different regions of Iran at the City Theater Complex until September 29th.
Islamic Unity Week is an annual celebration observed by both Sunnis and Shiites. The Shia tradition holds that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and blessings of Allah) was born on the seventeenth day of the lunar month of Rabi' al-Awwal. The Sunni tradition indicates the twelfth day of Rabi' al-Awwal. The event is held between these two dates of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and blessings of Allah).
This week was first celebrated in Iran in the mid-1980s based on a decree by the late Imam Khomeini. Muslims worldwide observe Islamic Unity Week during the period between these dates.
