Riot Games has released preliminary information regarding patch 26.17 in League of Legends, which includes changes for champions across different lanes, as well as new item adjustments.
The main goal of this update is to reduce the pressure faced by players in the top lane, achieved through the nerfs to Nasus and Vayne. Riot also plans to make changes to certain champions who continue to demonstrate a high level of performance in their roles.
In the mid lane, Xerath is among the targets of the update, while Nocturne and Graves will receive adjustments due to their effectiveness in the jungle.
Another focus of Patch 26.17 is on certain melee AD assassins. According to Riot, champions such as Irelia, Kai'Sa, Yasuo, and Yone were too heavily reliant on gaining an early game advantage. Without this 'snowball' effect, these characters would have less stability to remain relevant late in the match.
Thus, the update aims to strengthen this group so they can progress more reliably throughout the game, instead of depending solely on quickly gaining a large lead.
The patch continues the work started in the previous update concerning some equipment. Riot believes that the previously applied nerf to the Sundered Sky item did not yield the expected effect, and it is preparing for a new change to this item.
At the same time, the Stormrazor item will move in the opposite direction. The goal is to allow this item to find its place again in certain builds.
