In Campos do Jordão, during the cherry blossom season, one of the most beautiful times of the year, a celebration of Japanese and Korean cultures will take place. From August 27th to 30th, the Capivara Park will host the new edition of the Vale Nihon Matsuri Festival, featuring events inspired by these two Asian countries.
For its 12th edition, the festival invites visitors for free and offers a reason to visit Campos do Jordão outside the high season of winter tourists.
Main Events of the Festival
The Vale Nihon Matsuri Festival runs all day over four days, with continuous events from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM. It covers various aspects of Japanese and South Korean culture, including music and dance performances, as well as gastronomic offerings with typical Eastern flavors.
The Japanese part of the program includes Taiko performances, the famous drums traditionally used in the country, as well as the traditional Odori dance. A karaoke session with an open stage for the public will also be organized.
Korean culture is presented with a more modern style, inspired by the success of K-Pop. Guests can watch cover performances from leading genre groups and the 'K-Pop Warriors' show, as well as participate in a dance competition open to all participants, registration for which is also free.
Famous figures from the scene will also be present at the festival, including influencer and host Ju Sama, and cosplayer Naoko. Among the musicians associated with Japanese music are singers Midori and Mayumi, Bia Hikaru and Bianca Aumi, as well as Ricardo Nakase, who performs covers of Mikawa Kenichi.
Other musical performances include singer Silia, who will present songs inspired by Disney and cinema classics, as well as the Orion Orchestra from the Alpha Lumen Institute, which will play compositions inspired by anime and gaming culture.
