Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga states Prabhas' film 'Spirit' will receive an A rating despite strong content

Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga announced that Prabhas' film 'Spirit' will receive an 'A' certificate, indicating that it was not created with family viewing in mind. Commenting on the launch of the trailer for 'Romanchakam', the director suggested that due to the violent and intense nature of the film, it would likely be given an adult rating.

The director also discussed another important aspect of this project—the possible overlap in release dates with SS Rajamouli's film 'Varanasi', which stars Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra. 'Spirit' is scheduled for release on March 5, 2027, while 'Varanasi' will appear in theaters on April 7, 2027, leaving approximately 37 days between them.

Sandeep spoke about 'Spirit' at the 'Romanchakam' launch event. 'Spirit' is produced by Bhadrakali Pictures, managed by Sandeep and his brother Pranay Reddy Vanga. In the film, Prabhas plays a police officer, and the premiere is planned for March 2027.

When asked about whether the interval between the release of 'Spirit' and 'Varanasi' was sufficient to attract a large number of viewers, Sandeep Reddy Vanga expressed no concern. He noted: 'It will be enough. The interval is about 37 days. Moreover, the film ('Varanasi') is bigger than 'Spirit'. '

During the conversation, he was again asked about the potential scheduling conflict. Joking, he suggested that perhaps the journalists wanted 'Spirit' to deviate from the path of 'Varanasi', which created a light atmosphere at the event.

After collaborating on the film 'Animal' in 2023, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is returning to T-Series. He wrote and directed this upcoming action drama, which was produced by Bhushan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga, Krishna Kumar, and Prabhakar Reddy Vanga.

This project also sparked discussion due to its cast. There were previous reports that Deepika Padukone left the film due to disagreements over working hour requirements. Following this, news emerged that Trupti Dimri, who worked with Sandeep Reddy Vanga on 'Animal', joined the cast. Producer Pranay Reddy Vanga later stated that the reason for this change was issues related to payment and schedule. He also claimed that Deepika demanded a 10% share of the film's profits.

He explained: 'The reason is the same as mentioned before. Firstly, it was payment, secondly, it was time. Besides that, there were other reasons. Soon the situation got out of control. Look, she might demand anything. If we want to give, we can give. But budget consideration is also important to us. We thought things weren't working out. So we started looking for another option. As soon as we started looking for another option, she started leaking everything.'

It has been confirmed that 'Spirit' will be released on March 5, 2027. Sandeep Reddy Vanga confirmed that this Prabhas film will be an adult-rated action drama.
