Starting September 1st, Uzbekistan is introducing changes to parental fees for attending state preschool educational institutions. The new tariffs will be calculated based on Basic Evaluation Value (BEV) coefficients and will vary depending on the region, the duration of the child's stay, and the number of children from one family attending kindergarten.
These changes were approved by a Cabinet of Ministers resolution dated August 25th. On average, the parental fee will increase by 6.8%, and instead of fixed amounts, a system of coefficients linked to BEV will be used. Starting September 1st, the BEV will be 440,000 UZS.
In Tashkent, the monthly fee for one child will range from 54,472 UZS for a four-to-five-hour stay to 413,292 UZS for round-the-clock attendance. If multiple children from the same family attend the preschool institution, the fee per child will be from 36,300 to 294,756 UZS, respectively.
In regional administrative centers, the fee for one child will be in the range of 50,292 to 393,008 UZS, depending on the length of stay. For families with multiple children in these centers, the fee per child will be from 35,244 to 280,852 UZS.
In cities under regional administration, the monthly fee for one child will fluctuate between 44,836 and 350,284 UZS. When multiple children from the same family attend the kindergarten, the cost per child will be from 33,088 to 248,292 UZS.
In district centers, the fee for one child will be from 40,568 to 311,828 UZS. Families with multiple children in kindergarten will pay from 27,764 to 234,432 UZS per child.
In other settlements, parents of one child will pay from 36,300 to 290,488 UZS per month. If multiple children from the same family attend the kindergarten, the fee per child will be from 25,652 to 220,000 UZS.
The duration of the child's stay will also be taken into account. In Tashkent, the coefficients for one child are set as follows: 0.1238 BRV for a four-to-five-hour stay, 0.6602 BEV for nine hours, 0.7864 BEV for 10.5 hours, 0.8908 BEV for 12 hours, and 0.9393 BEV for round-the-clock mode. For multiple children from the same family in Tashkent, lower coefficients will apply, ranging from 0.0825 BRV for four-to-five hours up to 0.6699 BEV for round-the-clock attendance. A similar principle will apply in regional centers, cities under regional administration, district centers, and other settlements.
Thus, the final monthly fee for parents will depend on three main factors: the location of the kindergarten, the time the child spends there, and the number of children from the same family attending the preschool institution. The new fees will be calculated using a BEV of 440,000 UZS, which comes into effect on September 1st.
