According to British media, Tottenham Hotspur has reached an agreement to acquire Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush on loan for one season from Manchester City, with an option to buy for £60 million next year.
As reported by Sky Sports and the Press Association, Marmoush must undergo a medical examination at Tottenham before the transfer is finalized. Thus, Marmoush is set to become the second player from City to join Tottenham within days of winger Savio joining on Tuesday for an estimated initial cost of £75 million.
Tottenham's total spending in the summer transfer window has exceeded £300 million. Before the arrival of Savinho, who now prefers to be called Savio, Sandro Tonali, Matheus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andy Robertson, and Marcos Senesi joined the North London club.
Despite the influx of new players, Tottenham started its Premier League season with a humiliating 0-3 away defeat to Brentford last weekend.
If Tottenham buys Marmoush for £60 million, it will allow Manchester City to recoup the £59 million they paid for him in January 2025, having bought him from Eintracht Frankfurt.
The 27-year-old scored 16 goals in 62 matches for City, but most of his time at the Etihad was spent as a substitute for Erling Haaland. In Sunday's Premier League opening match against Bournemouth, Marmoush did not come on as a substitute, and his last appearance for the club was in the Community Shield a week earlier.
After Pep Guardiola's departure at the end of last season, several players left City, including Rodri, Bernardo Silva, John Stones, Tijani Randers, Nathan Aké, and James Trafford.
