Vanity Fair magazine has included Pope Leo XIV in its list of the most stylishly dressed in 2026 under the 'Originals' category.
This inclusion followed the religious figure's bold choice to appear once in attire consisting of a cassock and Nike sneakers. The publication explains the reason for his inclusion in this list by stating that his clothing choice represents a 'memorable' combination of a cream-colored cassock and athletic footwear.
Vanity Fair notes that even before becoming Pope, Leo XIV, previously known as Father Bob, would elevate his humble cassock, pairing it with Nike sneakers. The magazine also points out that Robert Provost 'retained his sense of ironic informality, sometimes wearing baseball caps.'
The model in question is the Nike Franchise Low Plus, which was very popular in the 1970s and 1980s, although the brand released a redesign of this model in 2008.
Other personalities featured in the same category include producer Spike Lee, Olympic athlete Alice Liu, and businesswoman Colby Magrabi. Pope Leo ranks sixth on the list.
