Micromax Informatics establishes a family office worth 250 crore rupees to invest in deep technology startups

The technology company Micromax Informatics has launched its family office, which possesses capital amounting to 250 crore rupees. The goal of this fund is to invest in deep technology startups both within India and abroad.

According to the statement, the family office will focus its investments on startups in fields such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, defense technologies, space technologies, and robotics. The primary focus will be on funding stages from Pre-Series A to Series B, with an average deal size ranging from 10 to 20 crore rupees.

Furthermore, it was noted that this family office aims to help promising deep technology enterprises transition from the innovation stage to commercial scale. This includes product commercialization, scaling up production capacity, and ensuring market access.

At the fund's launch ceremony, co-founder of Micromax Informatics, Rahul Sharma, stated that deep technology startups are at the forefront of the technological transformation that will define the economic and strategic future for decades to come. He added that through this initiative, the company seeks to provide founders with the necessary resources, partnerships, and industry expertise to turn breakthrough ideas into significant solutions and sustainable businesses.

Investment activities will target companies that solve complex engineering and technological challenges while possessing strong commercial potential and the ability to scale globally. The family office also plans to go beyond purely financial investment, helping portfolio companies accelerate commercialization, strengthen manufacturing and supply chains, gain access to industry partnerships, and enter a broader technological ecosystem.

To support founders, the fund will leverage the wider Micromax ecosystem, providing them with strategic and industry access through its portfolio companies, MiPhi Semiconductors and Bhagwati Products. Aakil Garg, Head of Investment at Micromax Informatics, noted that their priority will be finding founders who build companies with scalability in mind, where the industrial, manufacturing, and technological ecosystem can create value significantly exceeding the invested capital.

Micromax Informatics, founded in 2000, is a domestic technology company with interests in electronics manufacturing, semiconductors, and new technologies.
