President Shavkat Mirziyoyev awarded 558 individuals who dedicated themselves to the cause with high state honors in connection with the 35th anniversary of Independence. He also summarized the main achievements attained in the country over the past decade.
During the ceremony, the president congratulated those present on the holiday. According to the president's press service, over 160 billion dollars in foreign investment was attracted to Uzbekistan during this period, and the volume of the economy increased by more than 2.5 times.
It is expected that the gross domestic product will exceed 180 billion dollars this year. Furthermore, 5 million 700 thousand permanent jobs were created in the industry, services, and agriculture sectors.
Under state and private initiatives, 1.2 million schools, 342 thousand kindergartens, and 62 thousand hospitals were put into operation. Additionally, 83 thousand kilometers of public and internal roads were built and repaired.
For the first time, centralized water supply was provided to residential buildings housing eight million people, and the water supply for another 11.5 million people was improved.
Over the past decade, 650 thousand families received new modern housing, which resulted in providing housing for at least 2.5 million residents. The President emphasized that every awarded person should be well aware of their career path, achievements, and contribution to the country's development.
