Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has been officially included in the list of accredited testing and certification laboratories by the National Agency for Advanced Projects of Uzbekistan (NAPP), according to GLI itself. This decision allows operators and suppliers to use GLI reports when bringing gaming products to the Uzbek market in compliance with current regulatory requirements.
After being entered into the official register, GLI is authorized to provide testing and certification results for use in Uzbekistan's regulated gaming industry. The company notes that the local market is entering an operational phase, with four licenses already issued to two operators.
GLI views the recognition by the NAPP regulator as an important milestone for its development in Central Asia. Lucas Zavarize, GLI's Senior Manager for Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs for the EMEIA region, emphasized that Uzbekistan is developing as a key regulated market in Central Asia, and GLI is proud to be one of the first testing laboratories whose certification reports are accepted under the new regulatory framework.
Zavarize added that NAPP's goal is to facilitate controlled and sustainable growth in the sector. GLI intends to apply its global regulatory expertise to support the development of the Uzbek market and the broader Central Asian gaming industry.
Previously, in August 2026, representatives from GLI and NAPP held discussions regarding the new regulatory structure and potential areas for industry support. GLI reported that although some elements of the technical regulatory framework are still under development, the company continues to engage with NAPP as technical standards are finalized.
Founded in 1989, GLI specializes in the testing, inspection, and certification of land-based gaming systems, lotteries, and iGaming solutions. The company states that it has certified nearly 2 million positions and tested gaming equipment in over 710 jurisdictions worldwide.
