Delhi Government to Start Paying Women ₹2500 Under Delhi Lakshmi Yojna Scheme

The wait is over, and the first payment under the Lakshmi Yojana scheme will be disbursed to millions of Delhi women on Wednesday. Minister Reha Gupta will hand over the first tranche of ₹2500 during an event held at the Talkatora Stadium.

The Delhi Lakshmi Yojna scheme was launched to provide financial support to women, and under this program, eligible beneficiaries will receive an amount of two thousand five hundred rupees monthly in two different ways.

According to reports, more than six hundred thousand women have registered in this program so far. If you reside in Delhi and have not yet applied for this government program, you can easily apply from home in just five minutes.

The Delhi Government will provide women with monthly financial assistance of ₹2500. This support is intended for economically vulnerable women and will be issued to them through two channels. The government will provide beneficiaries with ₹1500 into an RD or FD account, and the remaining ₹1000 will be credited to the Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) wallet.

An alternative option is that eligible women can receive the entire amount directly into their RD/FD account. It should be noted that funds in these savings accounts will be locked until July 31, 2029, after which the full amount, including interest, will be paid out.

Among the established eligibility rules for Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, the most important point is that only one woman per family can benefit from this government scheme. Priority will be given to the oldest eligible woman in the respective family. The woman's age for participation in 'Laksmi Yojna' must be between 21 and 60 years.

Furthermore, her family's annual income (Family Income) must be below 2.5 lakh rupees. Another mandatory condition is that the applying women must possess proof of permanent residence in Delhi for 10 years.

The Delhi Government has enabled online application for Lakshmi Yojana. A special online portal has been launched for submitting the form, allowing applications to be made from home in just five minutes. To register for the program, an Aadhaar Card, Delhi voter slip, income certificate, address proof demonstrating 10 years of permanent residence in Delhi, an active DBT-linked bank account, a valid mobile number, and a passport-sized photograph will be required.

After submitting the application, you can also check your application status through the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana portal. To do this, you need to visit the website and click on the 'Track Application' field. Then, you must complete verification using the registration ID or registered mobile number via OTP. Your application status will be displayed on the screen, indicating whether it has been approved or rejected.

Who Will Not Receive Benefits

By setting the eligibility criteria for Lakshmi Yojana, the government has also specified which women will not receive benefits from this program, meaning they will not receive the monthly financial assistance of ₹2500.
