Monsoon to remain active in the country until August 31; warning of heavy rainfall and winds in 25 states

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts that most of the country will be exposed to rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds from August 26 to August 31. In various regions of India, including the northwestern, central, eastern, northeastern, western, and southern peninsulas, rainfall ranging from moderate to very heavy is expected on different days. In some places, wind speeds may reach 60 kilometers per hour.

According to the IMD, on August 26, Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) are expected to have cloudy skies, with very light or light rain forecasted by noon. During this period, the minimum temperature will be 25-27 degrees Celsius, and the maximum will be 32-34 degrees Celsius.

Uttarakhand is expected to continue receiving rain from August 26 to August 31. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in some areas on August 26 and August 30-31. Strong rain is forecast for Western Uttar Pradesh on August 26, while rains may continue in Eastern Uttar Pradesh until August 27. Very heavy rain is expected in some places on August 26, and heavy rain on August 27.

Rain is also possible in some places in Himachal Pradesh from August 26 to August 31. Forecasts for rain, thunderstorms, and lightning for Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh also cover this period, especially from August 28 to August 31.

In Western Madhya Pradesh, rain is possible in several places on August 26. Heavy rains are forecasted in some areas during August 27, and a warning for thunderstorms and lightning has been issued from August 28 to August 29. In Eastern Madhya Pradesh, rain is expected in various places from August 26 to August 29; very heavy rain is forecasted on August 26, and heavy rain from August 27 to August 29.

Rain is expected in various places in Vidarbha from August 26 to August 28, with a possibility of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning on August 26. The rainy spell in Chhattisgarh may extend until August 31. Very heavy rain is forecasted here on August 26, and heavy rain from August 27 to August 29.

Weather will also remain active in Eastern and Northeastern India. In West Bengal, rains are expected in various places from August 26 to August 31, with heavy rainfall in some areas from August 28 to August 30. In Jharkhand, rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds may be observed from August 26 to August 31.

In Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, heavy rains are possible in some places from August 26 to August 28. In Bihar, rain is expected in several places on August 26, and heavy rain in some areas from August 26 to August 27. In Odisha, rain may occur on August 26 and August 28-31. Very heavy rain is forecasted in some places there from August 28 to August 30, and heavy rain on August 26, 27, and 31.

In Northeast India, Arunachal Pradesh may experience rain from August 26 to August 31, with a possibility of heavy precipitation. Rains are expected in various places in Assam and Meghalaya on August 26, as well as from August 28 to August 31. Heavy rains are possible in some places in these states from August 26 to August 31. Rain is expected in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura throughout the week; heavy rain is possible on August 26, and very heavy rain on August 27-28 and August 31.

In West India, Konkan and Goa may see rain in various places from August 26 to August 31. Heavy rain is forecasted in Central Maharashtra on August 26. Rain with thunderstorms and lightning is expected in Marathwada. Rain is also possible in some places in Surat-Kachchh, Gujarat, from August 26 to August 31.

On the coast of Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds of 40-50 km/h are expected from August 26 to August 29, which may reach 60 km/h. Lightning and strong wind influence is also possible in Raichur. In Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, rain with thunderstorms and strong winds is expected on August 26, with heavy rain possible in some places.

In Telangana, thunderstorms and strong winds of 30-40 km/h, reaching 50 km/h, are possible on August 26. Thunderstorms and lightning are forecasted in North Inland Karnataka on August 26. In South Inland Karnataka, rain is expected in various places on August 26, with heavy rain in some. Heavy rain with lightning and thunderstorms is forecasted in Coastal Karnataka on August 26.

In Kerala and Mahé, rain is possible in various places from August 26 to August 28. Heavy rain with strong winds is expected on August 26, and very heavy rain in some places on August 27. Rain is also possible in various places in Lakshadweep from August 26 to August 28, with strong winds on August 26. Rains may continue in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands from August 26 to August 31. From August 27 to August 29, thunderstorms, lightning, and winds of 30-40 km/h, reaching 50 km/h, are expected there.
