A proposal for approval of the revised cost of the 508-kilometer high-speed railway line was presented to the Cabinet on Tuesday, according to TOI. The cost of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai project has been adjusted to approximately 2.1 lakh crore rupees, which is almost double the initial estimate of about 1.1 lakh crore rupees.
Previously, in January, Railway Board Chairman Satish Kumar reported that the project cost had increased by approximately 83%, reaching 1.98 lakh crore rupees.
