On Monday evening, the Iranian animated film 'Legend of Seper' began screening in 89 cinemas across Russia. The opening ceremony was dedicated to the memory of the children killed in Minab.
The event took place in the presence of the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Moscow, Kazem Jalali, as well as several film industry professionals and enthusiasts at a large children's and youth shopping center in the center of the Russian capital, according to IRNA.
Speaking at the ceremony, Jalali drew attention to the display of images of the deceased students from Shajare Tayebe school in Minab on the cinema screen. He stated that '168 Iranian children were killed on the first day of American and Israeli military aggression against Iran. The act of the aggressors in killing these children was a great and agonizing crime.'
The Iranian Ambassador to Russia noted that since the 168th anniversary of the death of the students of Minab school, this crime must not disappear from human memory.
Jalali also announced that during the Iranian Cultural Days, which will take place in October in St. Petersburg, Moscow, and Kazan, a ceremony will be held with the participation of a group of 168 Iranian artists in memory of the victims of Minab.
The ceremony was attended by Abdolreza Rashed, Iran's cultural attaché in Russia. There was also a meeting with Konstantin Elkin, a well-known producer and CEO of the film distribution and production company Russian World Vision (RWV). Elkin expressed satisfaction that his company contributed to the screening of the Iranian animation 'Legend of Seper', calling the cartoon a good work for children.
Konstantin Elkin also expressed sympathy to the families of the deceased students of Minab and the people of Iran, stating: 'We sympathize with everyone who lost their children in this tragic event, and we hope that such an incident will not happen anywhere else in the world.'
The animated film 'Legend of Seper' is an adventure, fantasy, and family story that touches upon themes of family, responsibility, courage, and resistance against darkness. The film won the 'Best Animation' award at the New York International Film Festival (NYIFA) in 2025.
