During the quarter-final match of the 2026 Dulet Cup, East Zone captain Ishan Kishan made a splash with his goalkeeping performance. In the second day's game against the North East Region, Kishan executed a magnificent stumping of a ball thrown by a fast player, which later became a viral video on social media.
The East Zone's fast player, Abidjit K. Sarkar, delivered the ball towards the feet of the North East Region batsman, Aashish Tapa. Tapa attempted to hit the ball but lost his balance.
Kishan was in close proximity to the wicket. Although he initially stumbled slightly while trying to catch the ball, in the next moment, he skillfully gathered the ball with one hand and dismissed the batsman. At that moment, Tapa's foot was in the air, and he could not return to the pitch, allowing Kishan to run him out.
Before coming onto the field, Aashish Tapa had scored 19 runs off 36 balls. Abidjit Sarkar performed brilliantly, taking 5 wickets while conceding only 20 runs in 9.5 overs. Shahbaz Ahmed also added 3 wickets to his tally, and the entire North East Region team was dismissed for just 111 runs.
Earlier, the East Zone had posted a substantial score of 467 runs in their first innings. In this match, Sudip Kumar Garami scored 146 runs, and Shahbaz Ahmed scored 167 runs. However, captain Ishan Kishan was unable to perform with the bat, scoring only 4 runs before being dismissed. Additionally, 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi was dismissed after scoring only 8 runs. Ultimately, the East Zone won against the North East Region in the second innings by a margin of 210 runs.
