Yoga Government Announces Free Distribution of Tablets to 2.5 Million Students in Uttar Pradesh State

The Yogi Government is preparing to announce significant schemes for students in state government schools and teachers in private schools across the state. The government will soon transfer ₹1,200 through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into the bank accounts of parents of approximately 1 million students studying in council schools. Additionally, arrangements are being made to provide cashless medical treatment to about 300,000 private school teachers and their dependents.

These two schemes are expected to directly benefit millions of families and teachers in the state. The financial aid provided to students can be used to purchase school uniforms, shoes, socks, and other essential educational materials, while private school teachers will receive relief from health-related expenses.

Approximately 1 million students enrolled in government primary and upper primary schools in Uttar Pradesh will soon receive financial assistance of ₹1,200. This amount will be transferred directly to their parents' bank accounts via the DBT system. The purpose of this fund is to ensure that children have dresses, shoes, socks, and other mandatory school supplies so that they can attend school in the prescribed uniform.

Teachers will also be assigned a responsibility in this process; they will encourage parents to use this amount to buy uniforms and other necessary items. Furthermore, the uniform and school material of the children will be monitored during parent-teacher meetings.

1.10 crore children have received the amount

In total, approximately 1.35 crore students are studying in the council schools of Uttar Pradesh. Out of these, financial assistance has already been sent through DBT to the parents of about 1.10 crore students. Currently, students who are newly admitted or who have not yet benefited from this scheme for some reason are being included. Data for approximately 1 million students has been prepared, and their amounts are soon to be sent to the parents' accounts.

Meanwhile, the process of linking the bank accounts of the parents of the remaining approximately 1.5 million students with Aadhaar and completing necessary documentation is underway. Once verification is complete, the parents of these children will also be provided with financial assistance for dresses, shoes, socks, and other school materials.

On the other hand, the Yogi Government is also making a major initiative for teachers working in private schools. The government is preparing to include approximately 300,000 teachers working in about 35,000 parent-teacher schools in the 'Teacher Cashless Medical Scheme'.

Under this scheme, teachers as well as their dependents are likely to receive cashless treatment facilities. This means that eligible teachers and their dependents can get treatment at empanelled hospitals under specified conditions without making an advance payment. The government considers this step a significant progress towards expanding the social and health security net for private school teachers. Work is being done on the necessary data related to private school teachers and eligibility procedures to implement the scheme.

In anticipation of the legislative elections in Uttar Pradesh in 2027, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has begun preparations to engage with Generation Z. The party plans to work actively at the local level to gain the support of young people.

To establish contact with the youth, representatives from the BJP's youth wing and regional teams will conduct direct conversations in schools and colleges. Members of the BJP's youth wing leadership and district teams will interact with young individuals.

According to sources, as part of this campaign, teams of ten young people will be formed for each assembly constituency, who will visit schools and colleges to communicate with the youth. The goal of these discussions is to ascertain the problems, expectations, and opinions of young people, as well as to inform them about government programs implemented by the administration.

In addition to meetings in educational institutions, dialogue events in small groups will be organized as part of the youth outreach campaign. The BJP aims to secure the support of the youth before the elections begin.

Some ministers of the Uttar Pradesh government will also interact with the youth in their respective districts, learning about the issues and expectations of local young people. For instance, Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Manoj Pandey held a large event in Raebareli, where he listened to the concerns of the youth and awarded students who achieved high results in exams.

Sources report that many ministers will be working in their regions in a similar manner in the near future to connect with youth at the polling station level.

The BJP's strategy for engaging with youth was not arbitrary. Strategists believe that a significant portion of the youth is very active on social media and digital platforms. Therefore, the BJP is organizing such events to attract the attention of young people.

Recently, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat also conducted similar events, conversing with Generation Z in Mumbai. Furthermore, on August 15, he plans to hold a dialogue with students in Nagpur.
