The Tashkent City Administration has presented an initiative for public discussion regarding the change in operating hours for city and district administrations, as well as all related city departments and structural units. According to the proposal, the workday should begin at 8:00 AM and end at 5:00 PM.
However, the total duration of the working day will remain the same; employees will start and finish work one hour earlier. Representatives of the city administration emphasized that many social institutions, enterprises, and state structures already operate from 8:00 AM, and capital residents seek assistance precisely at this time. Synchronizing work schedules will allow services to be ready to receive citizens from the morning and improve coordination between various departments.
How will the schedule shift affect urban infrastructure?
Furthermore, according to the results of analysis and modeling of traffic flows conducted by the Road Traffic Organization Center, the transition to the new working mode is capable of reducing pressure on the road network during peak hours. With the implementation of the new schedule, the lunch break time will also be adjusted, ensuring a more balanced distribution of both traffic flows and the load on public catering establishments.
Before making a final decision, city authorities plan to study the opinions of the capital's residents.
