Food product regulatory bodies have scrutinized claims that promise more, sound healthier, or create an impression of product superiority. As a result, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) found false statements from six Food Business Operators (FBOs) and required corrective actions.
FSSAI noted that the correction on the website of a company selling products has been completed, and steps are being taken to make changes related to licensing and obtaining an e-commerce license.
New packaging, which excludes the disputed claims, has been approved and is being gradually implemented between September and October 2026. The issues concerned products such as coconut oil, energy drinks, and baby food.
