During archaeological excavations in the ancient and medieval city of Perperikon, Bulgarian specialists discovered a unique artifact. This item turned out to be the seal of Irene Laskarina.
Irene Laskarina was a significant figure, being the daughter of the Nicaean Emperor Theodore I Laskaris. She lived in the 13th century AD. The head of the excavation shared information about this find in a publication in the journal Trud.
