At the Silk Road Finance & Technology Forum in Tashkent, the Business Development Bank demonstrated a biometric system that allows payments using a palm print and smile. Furthermore, as part of this event, the bank, together with its IT company, presented a number of new digital financial products based on artificial intelligence technologies.
The Silk Road Finance & Technology Forum started in Tashkent and is organized by the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the support of the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN). The event is scheduled for August 24 to 26, 2026, and AKB 'Business Development Bank' is actively presenting its advanced technological developments there.
The bank is participating in the forum along with its subsidiary IT company, BRB-TECH, where it demonstrates its own digital banking platforms and products created using artificial intelligence.
Palm and Smile Payment System
The most attractive element of the exhibition at the stand was the biometric payment system. This development allows clients to make payments without the need for a bank card, smartphone, or any other gadgets, relying solely on palm scanning or facial recognition (smile).
This system, which is being introduced into the banking sector of Uzbekistan for the first time, is considered a significant step forward in the development of payment technologies. Visitors to the stand had the opportunity to personally test these biometric payments.
Other Digital Solutions and AI-Based Developments
In addition to the biometric payment system, the bank presented a number of other innovative projects: a credit monitoring and early warning system that analyzes the risks of the credit portfolio in real-time, identifies signs of asset quality decline, and generates recommendations for the risk management department.
An AI-based collection system was also presented—an automated tool for handling overdue debt, where artificial intelligence independently conducts phone conversations with clients (actual recordings of such calls were shown at the exhibition).
The bank also presented the 'Biznes 24/7' platform, designed for remote servicing of legal entities, allowing them to make payments and process reports around the clock. There is also the bank's internal CRM platform called CRM360, which consolidates all business areas and customer interactions into a single system.
Additionally, the premium card 'Sherdor' was presented, a new bank card distinguished by a unique design that references the historical heritage of Uzbekistan, harmoniously combining the traditions of the Great Silk Road and modern innovations.
It is worth noting that the Silk Road Finance & Technology Forum is an important venue for promoting financial technologies in Central Asia. The goals of the event include increasing the number of fintech companies in Uzbekistan to 200 by 2030, attracting $1 billion in foreign investment to the industry, developing the Open Banking concept, and training over five thousand qualified specialists.
Through this exhibition, AKB 'Business Development Bank' clearly demonstrates how it successfully integrates traditional banking services with modern technological developments created by BRB-TECH. Forum participants were also able to study the statistics of loans granted by the bank to support entrepreneurship, as well as the volume of financed projects, at the stand.
