On Tuesday at the 2026 Women's Asian Volleyball Championship, Iran confidently defeated Iraq in three sets with scores of 25-4, 25-7, and 25-5.
In the match, Fatemeh Khalili scored a total of 14 points for Iran, and Reyhaneh Karimi scored 13 points, while Kazin Jalal Mahmoud scored five points for Iraq.
Iran began its campaign with a 3-1 victory over Taipei in Group A, but lost the second match to China with a score of 3-0. Thanks to this result, the Iranian team managed to qualify for the tournament quarterfinals.
The 2026 Women's Asian Volleyball Championship is the twenty-third edition of this tournament, which takes place every two years and is organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) together with the Chinese Volleyball Association (CVA).
The competition is being held at the Olympic Center Gymnasium in Tianjin, China, from August 21 to 30. The eight best teams after the preliminary round will advance to the quarterfinals, scheduled for August 27-28, followed by the semifinals on August 29. The bronze medal match and the final match will take place on August 30.
