Iran's Minister of Economy Ali Madanizadeh announced on Tuesday that the country is confident in its ability to withstand the harsh economic sanctions imposed by the United States.
US President Donald Trump presented what he called an 'Economic Day D' against Iran, aimed at isolating the country from the global economy. The US also warned states that conduct business with Tehran.
Madanizadeh emphasized that the country is 'fully prepared' for American sanctions, which, according to him, will lead to 'another victory' for Washington.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that any nation financially cooperating with Iran would face similar measures, threatening banks and companies working with Tehran to immediately sever ties.
Bessent characterized the sanctions against Iran as 'the greatest financial attack in history,' stating that they would 'tighten the noose and block all potential sources of income.'
However, several hours after the announcement of 'Economic Day D,' Iran reported confidence that its trading partners would not terminate relations.
The Iranian Minister of Economy noted that neither China nor Russia had 'adopted' the US measures. He added that 'the government is ready and was ready, and has a two-year plan to manage these events.' The Minister continued: 'We also have our own tools, and we know how to play this game.'
Nevertheless, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran (IRGC) issued a new warning to ships not to pass through the Strait of Hormuz without permission, warning that the military would target them.
