JSC Uzbekneftegaz is intensifying efforts to increase natural gas production by accelerating the commissioning of new wells, carrying out major repairs, and implementing measures to prevent accidents at production facilities, according to the company itself.
These measures were discussed at a working meeting chaired by Chairman of the Board of Directors Abdugani Sanginov. The meeting reviewed drilling progress, the condition of compressor stations, power supply, geological exploration, and production infrastructure.
Well Work Overview
Between August 1 and August 24, 2026, company management checked the status of 11 wells. Drilling was completed at eight sites, seven of which have already started operating, providing additional gas production of 1.7 million cubic meters per day. However, one well failed to achieve industrial gas flow, and the launch of another well was postponed until early September. Responsible employees were instructed to complete drilling work on the remaining three wells within the established deadlines.
Regarding well major repairs, an industrial gas flow was achieved at all eight sites scheduled for commissioning between August 1 and August 24, 2026. The actual volume of additional production amounted to 310,000 cubic meters per day, exceeding the planned figure of 235,000 cubic meters. For the period from August 21 to August 31, 2026, the company plans to commission another 11 repaired wells to ensure an additional gas production of 340,000 cubic meters daily.
Infrastructure and Accident Prevention Requirements
Sanginov emphasized the critical importance of synchronizing well commissioning with the readiness of infrastructure, including pipelines, technological equipment, compressor stations, and power supply systems. Although the oil and gas departments in Gazli and Shurtan reported no emergency shutdowns in August following equipment maintenance, incidents in other divisions led to a decrease in the production of natural gas, gas condensate, and liquefied gas.
Management instructed regional divisions to focus on accident prevention, significantly reduce technical failures next month, and complete all preventive work before the onset of cold weather.
