Tuesday in South Africa is expected to be generally favorable and calm, with warm or hot conditions in several regions. However, morning fog is forecast in some areas, cloudiness along the coast, and strong winds.
In Gauteng, the weather will be good and warm, but residents are advised to exercise caution due to intense sunlight, as the ultraviolet radiation index will reach a very high level.
Areas of morning fog are expected in Mpumalanga and Limpopo over the eastern Highveld escarpment, as well as in the north-western and central parts of Limpopo. In the rest of the country, conditions will be good, ranging from cool to warm, becoming hot in some places over the Lowveld. North-West will maintain good and warm weather, while Free State can expect good conditions from cool to warm.
The Northern Cape will see patches of morning fog, followed by good and warm or hot weather, although it will remain cool along the coast. Coastal areas will face fresh or strong southerly or southeasterly winds.
The Western Cape will start the day with patches of morning fog in the northwest and southern territories, after which the weather will become good or partly cloudy and warm or hot. It will be cold in some places along the south and southwest coast.
Coastal winds vary from light and variable along the south coast in the morning to moderate or fresh southeasterly and easterly winds, which may strengthen elsewhere. The ultraviolet radiation index will be very high.
The Eastern Cape will be cooler, with good conditions expected in most of the province. The western half will be cloudy in the south in the morning and evening, with fog in some places before becoming partly cloudy. The eastern half will also become cloudy along the coast and adjacent inland areas in the evening, with possible fog in some places. Coastal winds will be light to moderate, blowing from the southwest.
KwaZulu-Natal will see partly cloudy skies and morning fog over the inland areas, followed by good conditions ranging from cool to warm. Moderate northeasterly winds will blow along the coast, potentially strengthening to fresh in the northern part. South of Durban, winds will begin to shift to the southwest in the morning and spread north by evening, reaching Cozi Bay. The ultraviolet radiation index will be extreme, making sun protection particularly important.
