Two representatives from Uzbekistan have become participants in the international educational space project Mission ShakthiSAT, which is being implemented in India. This project brings together over 12,000 female engineers representing 108 different countries.
As part of this program, the Uzbek participants were able to take direct part in the assembly process of the engineering module of the ShakthiSAT-1 satellite. The goal of the project is to increase the involvement of girls in STEM fields—that is, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—with a special focus on aerospace engineering and space technologies.
Before starting practical work, the representatives from Uzbekistan successfully passed selection and received appropriate educational training. They then proceeded to the practical stage, where they had the opportunity to work directly with the engineering module intended for the future satellite.
The organizers of Mission ShakthiSAT consider this platform important for developing the practical competencies of young participants in the field of space engineering. Furthermore, the program is designed to stimulate girls' interest in a career path in the aerospace industry and prepare future specialists for space missions.
Uzcosmos emphasizes that such global initiatives give young specialists the chance not only to absorb theoretical knowledge but also to apply it in practice during the production of space equipment. It is worth noting that India is actively strengthening its position in the space industry; for example, in July, the country launched a privately manufactured rocket, Vikram-1, developed by the startup Skyroot Aerospace, into orbit for the first time.
