The Chinese pair managed to save their best result for the final match of the championship, adding the world championship title to their resume after previously winning silver in mixed and women's doubles categories.
In the mixed doubles final, Fan Yan Zhe and Huang Dongpin lost to the French team of Thomas Jickel and Delphine Delrue with scores of 22-20, 19-21, 21-15.
This victory marked a significant moment for badminton in France, as Jickel and Delrue became the first world champions from that country. France had even more reasons to celebrate when Alex Lanier defeated Kodai Naraoka of Japan with scores of 21-11, 21-11 in the men's singles final.
Lanier became the first French world champion in the singles category, and the country achieved two gold medals in one world championship for the first time in history. Furthermore, France became the first European nation since Denmark in 1977 to win multiple gold medals at the tournament.
South Korea equaled France in terms of titles, winning two golds after dominating the women's disciplines. Baek Ha-na and Lee Seo-hee defeated the defending champions from China, Liu Shenshu and Tan Ning, with scores of 21-15, 21-15 in the women's doubles final, securing South Korea's first world title in this category in 31 years.
World number one An Se-young easily defeated Akane Yamaguchi of Japan with scores of 21-17, 21-14 in the women's singles, earning her second world championship title after her triumph in 2023.
