President Donald Trump announced on Monday in a social media post the intention of the United States to increase customs duties on Canadian products. These duties will affect Canadian cars, trucks, auto parts, and steel.
According to the statement, the tariff increase to 50% will take effect on January 1, 2027. Furthermore, Trump added in his post that tariffs will be absent if production takes place in the US.
