Orlando Pirates officially announced the sale of playmaker Patrick Masvangani to Bahrain. Furthermore, the club confirmed the departure of attacking midfielder Tito Masvangani to the Bahraini club Al Khaldiya Sports Club.

The 28-year-old midfielder will head to the Persian Gulf. He has played for the 'Buccaneers' since 2022 and won eight trophies during his time with the 'Soweto giants'.
In an official statement, Pirates explained that the decision was made after discussions between the club itself, Masvangani, and his representatives. The club noted that 'Masvangani remained an important part of the technical team's plans for the season.' However, after talks with the player and his agents, he expressed a clear desire to gain new experience abroad.
'Soweto giants' stated that they respect Masvangani's ambitions and consequently agreed to facilitate his departure. The statement further read: 'Recognizing his contribution to the Club's work and his pursuit of the next chapter of his career, Orlando Pirates agreed not to obstruct him.' Following this, the transfer with Al Khaldiya Sports Club was concluded.
In the 2023/2024 season, Masvangani became a player of the season and was an important attacking element in the club, contributing goals and assists in domestic competitions. His departure comes at a tense time for Pirates, who are participating in the Betway Premiership and MTN8, and preparing for the CAF Champions League campaign.
Ouaddou will now have to adjust his attacking options following the departure of a player who was initially part of his plans. This transfer also marks a new chapter in Masvangani's career, as the midfielder will continue his development outside of South Africa.
For Orlando Pirates, the focus shifts to managing his exit while maintaining the squad depth necessary for what promises to be a demanding season. Masvangani becomes the third playmaker to leave Pirates this transfer window, following Relebogile Mofokeng and Sipho Mbulu, who also moved abroad.
