The China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) has announced the postponement of the Chang'e-7 automated lunar mission launch. The mission will not take place until the completion of the current launch window this year.
Specific reasons for the delay were not disclosed, but it is presumed that the influence of Typhoon Narra, which was in close proximity to the Wenchang spaceport, may have been the cause. The launch of the 'Chang'e-7' spacecraft using the 'Changchen-5' launch vehicle was planned from there.
In addition to weather factors, determining the launch window for the mission also depends on several other variables. These include the illumination level of the southern polar region, as well as the schedule of spacecraft flights to the Moon and the progress of landing preparation work, which may be subject to changes.
