Azerbaijani companies intend to implement a number of projects in Uzbekistan covering fields such as mining, geological exploration, raw material processing, energy, construction, agriculture, tourism, and finance. These initiatives are part of a package of agreements signed with representatives of the Azerbaijani side and the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, according to the ministry's press service.
AzerGold plans to participate in the development of the Akba gold deposit in the Kashkadarya region. Furthermore, it has signed a contract for geological exploration in promising areas in the Navoi region.
According to Uzbekgeology Exploration data, over 13 tons of commercial gold reserves were estimated at the Akba deposit for 2025, which are included in the State Balance. The company estimates that further exploration could discover up to another 50 tons of gold in this area.
SOCAR continues geological exploration in the Tergenkuduk, Boitarak, Birkori, Kharoy, Kulboy, and Karakalpak blocks in the Muynak and Kungrad districts of Karakalpakstan. Another project involves building a processing plant for silver ore in the Namangan region together with Sur Gold and Silver Project.
A project is planned for the extraction of rare earth metals in the Navoi, Tashkent, and Jizzakh regions, in which NEQSOL Holding from Azerbaijan will participate. In June 2026, the company signed an agreement with the Ministry of Mining and Geology of Uzbekistan on the joint development of critically important minerals, including strategic raw materials such as titanium. This agreement provides for the determination of priority areas and the application of modern technologies and international standards.
In Fergana, Baku Oltin plans to establish jewelry production. A similar project from Sur Gold and Silver Project is planned in the Almazar district of Tashkent. The development of jewelry production is taking place against the backdrop of growing exports in the industry. According to the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Uzbekistan exported jewelry worth 685 million US dollars from January to June 2026, which is 2.8 times higher than the same period last year.
In the energy sector, SOCAR and Uzbekneftegaz plan to develop a network of gas stations across Uzbekistan. As part of the cooperation, the presidents of the two countries previously initiated the construction of five such stations.
In the industrial sector, the agreements provide for the creation of production capacities for dry building mixes and drywall in the Kamash district of the Kashkadarya region.
In the agricultural sector, plans include the creation of an intensive fruit orchard covering 1000 hectares in the Turakurgan district of the Namangan region, as well as the development of infrastructure for storage and processing of agricultural products. GFF Langar intends to build a cold storage warehouse and fruit processing facilities in the Turakurgan district. AXB-Fruits is modernizing a cold storage warehouse in the Kuv district of the Fergana region, while Gold Fresh Fruits will create a fruit orchard in the Pap district of the Namangan region.
Azerbaijani companies have also announced plans in the construction and tourism sectors. TuranAZ plans to develop the Baku City residential complex in the Davlatabad district of the Namangan region. Agalarov Development intends to build a high-rise residential complex in the Mirabad district of Tashkent, and Hidro İnşaat Servis plans to build multi-story residential buildings in the Yunusabad district.
Agalarov Development is also participating in the international tourist center project Sea Breeze Uzbekistan in the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent region. PASHA Holding plans to develop the five-star hotel The Ritz-Carlton and Baku Tower apartments in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent. Additionally, a park named Azerbaijan is planned for New Tashkent in collaboration with the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan.
In the banking sector, the International Bank of Azerbaijan (ABB) will participate in the development of Davr Bank in Tashkent by acquiring a controlling stake in the bank.
In the education sector, Landau Education Group plans to establish a network of Landau STEM schools in Tashkent. The first project from the list is scheduled for the Mirabad district.
