According to data from the National Statistical Committee, Uzbekistan imported 421,918 tons of potatoes from eleven different countries between January and June 2026. The total value of these imports amounted to 34 million US dollars.
The Committee noted that the volume of potato imports decreased by almost 46,900 tons compared to the same period last year. Specifically, Kazakhstan was the largest supplier, providing Uzbekistan with 337,900 tons of potatoes in the first half of the year.
Pakistan ranked second among suppliers with a delivery of 33,800 tons. Following them are Kyrgyzstan, which supplied 14,800 tons, and Afghanistan, which provided 13,500 tons. Additionally, Uzbekistan imported 9,700 tons of potatoes from the Netherlands, and the remaining countries supplied another 12,200 tons.
Thus, Kazakhstan accounted for about 80% of Uzbekistan's total potato import volume over the six-month period, based on the 337,900 tons supplied by Kazakhstan out of the total of 421,918 tons. Overall, the total volume of potato imports decreased by approximately 10% compared to January-June 2025, corresponding to a reduction of almost 46,900 tons compared to the first half of 2026.
