Ombudsman for Business in Uzbekistan Launches Project for Entrepreneurs

The Ombudsman for Business in Uzbekistan has introduced a new project called 'I Have a Question for the Ombudsman for Business,' which allows entrepreneurs to submit their questions regarding business operations to qualified specialists.

Expert answers will be posted on the official channels of the Ombudsman for Business. Inquiries can be sent via email to biznesombudsmangasavol@gmail.com. This initiative is designed to provide entrepreneurs with clarifications on issues related to their business activities.

The Institute of the Ombudsman for Business was established in 2017 as part of reforms aimed at strengthening the legal protection of entrepreneurs, reducing administrative barriers, and ensuring the protection of property rights. The institution was created according to Presidential Decree No. UP-5037 dated May 5, 2017.

The Ombudsman for Business is an official appointed and dismissed by the President of Uzbekistan. His main task is to ensure guarantees for the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of businesses, as well as to monitor compliance with these rights by state, law enforcement, and regulatory bodies.

The institute's powers include reviewing entrepreneurs' complaints, monitoring the activities of state structures, participating in court proceedings, analyzing draft normative legal acts, and preparing proposals for legislative improvement. Furthermore, the Ombudsman participates in the development and implementation of state policy for protecting entrepreneurs' rights, provides legal support during inspections, and assesses the impact of normative legal acts on business.

The organizational structure of the institute gradually expanded: in 2017, eight employees were working within the system. By 2019, the number increased to 101 people, after which a system of regional offices was introduced, strengthening efforts to identify and resolve entrepreneurs' problems directly in the regions.

The new project provides entrepreneurs with an additional channel to receive clarifications on their activities. Questions are accepted at the specified email address, and the answers prepared by specialists are published on the official information resources of the Ombudsman for Business.
